Cache frequency has a lot to do with changing content, IMO. If the content changes often, Google will cache more frequently.

I'd agree with that - I always thought it was all on your Google PageRank, and I am sure to some degree it possibly might be - but I have noticed that my blog gets cached much more regularly as it's changing daily - rather than the static homepage of my other travel website.

I can tell you one thing, it has nothing to do with the Revisit After Meta Tag that some places seem to tell you to put in

Why are you looking to have an updated cache? (Or at least frequently updated)

Yeah I learnt that one about 2 years ago - I was told by an "SEO expert" on a forum when I first started SEOing my sites that I should add the revisit metatag.

It has been 1 month that my cache hasn't been updated... I didn't modify my content for 1 month , so that explains the thing!

And for Google to see that content is changed more often, you need to be Google-Friendly and make Google crawl you more. And to make Google do THAT you will need to SEO

Getting cralwed by search engines... is very easy... getting good pr links... may get you crawled often... as those are the sites that are crawled often...

Then you may consider to submit articles... those sites are also crawled regularly... the reason behind is as John pointed out is the changing content... as search engines notice that this is a site that is giving good and fresh content reglarly then they come to you regularly...

Take care

Manish
