I do nearly zero SEO work... and I'm not a very advanced webmaster.. and I've always admired this site, and have been a member since the days of webmaster-forum (or whatever it was).

Anywho, I've followed these SEO discussions and I consider you guys to be the BEST.

To be honest though, I don't know if what you do pays off. Does all this work mean anything? I was disappointed to see your google PRs.

Maybe its short lived, or I'm just lucky, but is there any reason why my sites are this high and the leaders of webdesign/seo are below me? I don't even make probably 1/8th of what you guys make in revenue.

pr isn't everything about SEO

The PR0 has to do with not having the www. in front of the domain. This comes about due to inbound links having only www.domain.tld The same goes for www.geekvalley.com(pr7) vs geekvalley.com(pr6) and www.dwcnetwork.com(pr4) vs dwcnetwork.com (pr7)- You could probably have better PR yet if you had all your links pointing to www.geekvalley.com. Some of the links on www.dwcnetwork.com that point to geekvalley are messed up too. Even the link in your post to geekvalley is not formatted correctly. Tidy that up and you would probably do better yet.
Oh.. and your other domain www.geekvill.com only has PR3. Combine all those links and point them at the same domain consistently and you'd probably be PR8. Now the question is what keywords are you being found for on SE's?

Heh, you've got a great PR because you're got a sponsored link (yes?) on every single page of a directory site (link farm?) whose homepage is 8.

That could be a very astute move - but it's also an extremely unstable PR shunter - if your banner is dropped from the directory, or the directory banned as alink farm, then your PR would be nearer to 4, if that.

As for my own sites - they are strictly compliantly SEO'ed - which means that I have to build them up the hard way. Sites SEO'ed any other way I wouldn't be able to advertise in public.

Internet Marketing Research used to have PR7, as did WF and QWH. The PageRank has dropped because I've been changing the links to other, more profitable sites.

Internet Marketing Research creates very little income. Those Adsense ads up there bring in under $1,000 a month these days. (Used to be more.) All the thousands of footer links we have from various sites we operate used to point to IMR, but now they point to either www.v7inc.com or www.internet-hosting-report.com or one of our more profit-oriented sites.

Oddly enough, even though the PageRank has dropped to PR6, the traffic continues to grow. And, I'll put IMR's traffic up against yours any day of the week.

You're on every page of the site relmaxtop.com. It's main index page alone is PR 8.

Is it a links farm? Probably bad use of words on my part.

Is it a sponsored link? Well, if sites who's root page is PR8 are offering free banner exchanges then count everyone in.

"SEO work" is getting links. Looking at your backlinks, you seem to very busy getting links, so I wouldn't say that you do "zero seo work".
