Google not crawling my inner pages

Hi
I am newbie here. I am breaking my head with google acting funny with my website www.chesdinhomes.com. Google seems not crawling my inner pages, when it crawled last time it only took the home page. Its showling inner pages which no longer exists. The site is there for about 1 1/2 yrs and I also added sitemap to the google's sitemap website.

I got home page connecting to innerpages through graphic font files, is this a problem. I got few hundred backlinks even though google is not showing them, some of them got good page ranks, they were visible in yahoo and msn.

Any suggestions, I am really breaking my head and I need your professional help.
thanks a bunch in advance.

It certainly won't hurt your SEO and indexability to get rid of the pixelated navigation and headers. What you are doing is removing readable (By SE's) content, most of which are your keywords.

If a redesign isn't on the horizon, at least add text navigation in the footer.

Another note, you submitted a sitemap yet you don't have one on your site. Add a sitemap and make sure it is one click from your home page.

Do all of that, then get more links as it seems Google has deemed you unimportant

(PS I checked for a robot txt file and found none so they can't be hurting you..Just giving a lot of 404's in your logs)

Thanks for your suggestion

I do not have robot.txt in my sitemap. I submitted only sitemap.xml. Do you think I need robot.txt.

Is there any good freeware for adding a sitemap to my website, I mean, any software that can provide me the code that I can copy and paste into my website.

Seeing as how you only have 6 or 7 pages, I wouldn't use a program...Just add an HTML page with proper anchor text

I added sitemap to the website. I hope it works.

Any other suggestions, I would like to see how I can get some page ranking.

Some interesting things, I do not have any page ranking, but when I do seach in google for some words, I see intereting results.
my website: www.chesdinhomes.com
Key word : Chesdin homes ( my company name ) - Rank 1
Chesdin Landing - Rank 7
Brickshire Builders ( its in my index title ) - Rank 2
brickshire homes - rank 8
brickshire - rank 20

Any reasoning why google doing this,

Site not indexed

I am having a similar problem, however my site is not even listed anymore. It was about a month ago and now it's dropped out. Googles cache is several months old, and I have tried several things to help. I added a robot txt file, sitemap xml file, etc. Can you help?

Thank you!
Tom

I had a quick look around your site and you could probably do with an html sitemap (which you would link to on your index page - I see you have a sitemap.xml but an html one is important for search engines other than google).

I also did a quick search for backlinks to your site and I couldn't find any except for www.trickysticky.com/races which appears is only a redirect. You need links coming in so your site can be found - this is the most important thing that needs changing.

I hate that too, especially if it's a new website and you want to see it prosper! Stupid Google SandBox!

In your case it's different, Google doesn't even know those pages exist!

Site not indexed

Thanks for the input guys, I'm still hacking around at this stupid thing.

Is my javascript nav screwing me up?

I made my default page an asp page to set cookies and if the cookie was accepted direct it to index.htm, and if it doesn't then go to index2.htm.

I think the redirection all works okay by looking at Poodle Predictor
http://www.gritechnologies.com/tools/spider.go

Could this redirection be screwing me up? I've had it there for along time, then (coincidentally) when Big Daddy rolled out, I tried just going down to the index.htm page about this time was when my site dropped out.

Thanks,
Tom

One thing that I learnt the hard way.

Inner pages should only go in to a maximum of 2 clicks away from the homepage.

More than that and Google would most probably miss it.

Try and shape your website like a tree chart. Start with your homepage on the top and branch out below it.

Make sure it doesn't go more than 3 tiers, or try to minimize it (the amount of pages after the third tier) at least.

Just put the link in your signature and start posting more often in the forum, Google will pick you up in a month!

In addition to the sitemap try to get links into a couple of the inner pages, and then branch off of those.

Signature links are good for "inviting" a spider to a specific page. After it get's to that page, wait 2-4 weeks and you should see the spider branch off to other pages too.
