The best tool is yourself!
Every directory is different, and automated submission software can't account for all of the differences. Information becomes incomplete, in the wrong category, etc. It also cannot account for steps that legitimate directories use for to ensure that the submissions are human, therefore the software submits to directories without this security. These directories are loaded with spam, which can hurt, not help. If I were a spammer (scumbag), this is just the kind of software I'd use.

According to me, you can use software for directory submission because directory submission is static process and rules for submitting links is similar for all directories.

For using software first of all you have to add the list of directory and also need to mention the category.

Definitely safer to go with manual submissions. As menitioned above, I also use Roboform to help with automatically filling out the registration to these sites. Big time saver.

Hi.

Please don't use any software for off page submission. Do it manually. You can use Roboform tool to fill the form for Directory Submission instead of using software. because google may consider your website as a spam.

Auto submission tools are a great help mates. But don't forget, 80% manual and 20% automation. Know and learn the tools you want to use and avoid getting sandboxed

I strongly believe that tools are very much helpful in our works as it make our work easy and fast but one wise advise to you is don't use tool or software for submission purpose as many are made against search engine algorithm and by using them you might be get risk of banning your site.

Thus for this reason I prefer to do manually only.

Okay. I just Googled RoboForm and it showed me a password manager and a form filler similar to a Firefox plug-in called Informenter. How come a lot are still suggesting it after it was pointed out to be a mistake?

Anyway, back to the post. As most of the people here say, you should consider doing the submissions manually. If you really want to do the automation, I think you're going to have to spend money for it, just to be safe from those scams. Try SENuke X if you're willing to spend money.

Again, don't rely on it too much. And remember what Jim Gillum said...

Automated tools never do guaranteed work.
Mostly if they are guaranteed they have own network use for adding link.
These sites are of same IP and you get less than half benefit from it.
Site exposure can be bound to some limited IP pools if you use them.

For social bookmarking purpose i do use AddThis. AddThis is a tool which has connections with hundreds of social bookmarking sites/services. And while coming to the directory submission, it better to do it manually because it may make the spammy noise around (It's my personal experience and research).

I normally do the submission manually. I don't prefer any type of automated software for my submission. I specially recommend you that don't go for any kind of software. If you use software for submission, may be your website can be banned by Google.

for manual link builders, there's fireform which helps you to fill up all of the required fields specially on directory submissions and social bookmarking.

I am having 4 years experience in SEO industry but till date I never used any software for off-page submissions. Yes, there lots of tools and addons which share your burden and ease your work like informenter, rank checker tool from seobook, searchstatus, seoquake addon.

Don't forget always Google is much more smarter than us

The question was "Tool for offpage submissions" what is the point of saying for most of you I do not use any tools just do manual submission - I feel its a bit of spamming

I think if the person would like to know whether to use tools or not he would ask the questions other way
