Yahoo ok, not Google.

We sell inkjet cartridge and laser toners online. There are many local companies that sell ink cartridges online in the region of ontario in canada. But most search results are from the states. So we tried to get some ranking locally. After few months we see our link popularity on yahoo doing ok, but google looks like don't want to list us, it still shows zero. Wonder what could we do to score some popularity on Google.

You need to get backlinks to your site with anchor text using your keywords that you want to rank high for. For example if you want to rank high for Ontario Ink Cartridges. You would use Ontario Ink Cartridges as your anchor text.

Getit- Google takes time... a lot of it. and some foot rubs. I have ranked #1 for lots of search terms with MSN that usually result in top 10 Yahoo and sometimes not even reaching top 500 in Google...

Make sure your backlinks are from legitimate sites that Google would not have ethical issues with, and don't get too many too quick. Part of me wants to say that perhaps there is something more important to Google these days than ibl's... but then I do a search for Miserable Failure...

do u believe in Google jail? check more onGoogle jail. but i think it requires time to get some backlink to your site in Google.

I agree because (for me at least) it seems like Google is always the last one to index a new site or page (usually at least). So if they very slowly crawl sites that link to me and index those findings even slower... then gaining recognition for those backlinks is probably going to take some time as well.
