Using search results...

Take the following link:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=www.ad-bid.com

The page itself has a link to ad-bid.com on it.

Would this help boost the number of links to ad-bid.com or do web-spiders realise that using search engine results to get extra links is a no-no?

just wondering.

Google counts number of web pages that Link To your site as part of the factor of where your site is placed. Now granted, doing the thing above will link a page that effectively has a PR 0 to your site, but it still has a link to the site on the page.

My question was, will a web-spider follow that link and then "add that" to the list of sites that link to a web page or not?
