Nofollow link tag is used for restricting page ranking juice from one page to other. The google crawl those link but the page will never get high authority as dofollow get. Compare to nofollow links, the dofollow have high priority.

If you earn back link for Google then it is consider dofollow, else both kind of link are important for your site. Nofollow is count your backlink by other search engine and for traffice mostly social site we get nofollow but enough traffic.

Good point there, voyage09. There could be some scoring that's part of the algorithm since most of us did mention that either nofollow and dofollow links have an effect on a website: traffic. There's that other thing: relevance. I believe there's a member here has already talked about that before.

yes...google scores pageranking in mysterious and magical ways. no really knows exactly how the links and sites are scored, only google knows.

Nofollow attribute prevents to pass page rank value between two pages. If you are getting inbound links to your pages so, you have to focus on some dofollow links which may help you to raise page rank. Google never declared separation of DoFollow & NoFollow inbound links. Google webmaster tools' links to your site section shows links with both value.

If you are getting more dofollow inbound links so, it directly impact to your page rank (You have to develop rock solid internal structure to make it happen). High page rank will help you to boost your ranking! That's it.

I wouldn't say most blogs are most follow. A lot of blogs are NoFollow but if they are relevant to your niche then it will certainly benefit your website.

No-Follow Links has its own Priority, we can't Ignore at all.
The value of No-follow links marked through traffic from High Priority sites like Facebook or other. But as Condition with the Value of No-Follow links for Rankings under Search Results, that goes to some other direction. They dint pass any Positive Impacts Like PR Points or such.

Not only this but links with no anchor text and different anchoring plus no follow, do follow links, a mixture of that counts as natural links so you need to have all of them rather than focusing one anchor text and do follow..!

There is no doubt that no-follow links have importance and those people who think that no-follow links are not important they are wasting their time to get do-follow links only and google will penalize those sites have only do-follow links, its means that no-follow links seems that you are doing organic and natural link building.
