Congratulations to all the winners. This was a great contest that I seriously doubt will be duplicated in size for quite some time.

Congrats! It was an interesting competition towards the end - alot of movement.
I don't think a great deal was learnt SEO wise - other than the coop is a powerful marketing tool - would be interesting to know how many of the top 5 sites used COOP
Time will tell if Google or any other search engine react negatively to this type of link building.
So what have we learnt from the competition?

I used the contest for several directory link value tests and gained some valuable information from it. It was a good real time test that provided some valuable information.

As noted on the page, any winning payments to 4th pace finisher Watching paint Dry should be made directly to the University of Maryland Center for Celiac Research - here is their donation page.
They unfortunately do not take PayPal (I've suggested they add this option), but online credit cards or checks are accepted. I will work directly with them and ask them to update this page to reflect $$$ received.
And a special thanx to Scott at the winning page of VE.net who graciousely said back on January 17th that he would donate half to Celiac Disease if he won, and as updated on his page, he is working that transfer of funds - thanx Scott!
I've been with family most of the day and offline until now when I have a few minutes before I get on a plane, but great contest John and all that participated.

Notice the 14th may 2006. I think it would be fair if the date displayed was 15th may 2006 instead of 14th, but thats just my opinion.
Kudos to jim, now i can charge him more for hosting J/K
And congrats marcus hmm should charge him more too LOL. Good to know that my small time hosting serves 2 top seo Professionals ,maybe they can help this noob out in getting my site in top rankings too .
Congrats to all winners too.

Results cannot be given for a specific "cache" date, only a snapshot of Google results at a D-date. Don't you think?
Anyway, Google doesn't refresh all website's cache version each day, so it would be endless...
It's a good thing that rules didn't change that way, during the contest.

7th??? Bum fluff.
Can we get some sort of official placement badges to sport with pride? 7th may not be in the prize money, but it's still something I'd like to shout about.
