Screen Capture?
I'm so surprise that there was no screen capture. That's how the winner should be proven.
See "v7ndotcom elursrebmem" and "V7ndotcom Elursrebmem" are not the same. So i'm wondering if the "v7ndotcom elursrebmem" was used.
MamboHacks.com has been playing on #4 and #5 these past few weeks when you search " v7ndotcom elursrebmem". At least for GMT-6 timezone here in the USA.
So i've got a feeling that "V7ndotcom Elursrebmem" was used instead of "v7ndotcom elursrebmem" which is the official keyword.
I'm not contesting i'm just creating some buzz. I'll be contesting if i knew I was at #1.
Attached Screen Capture:

Cowboy, as per the official announcement, the search term was "v7ndotcom elursrebmem", not "V7ndotcom elursrebmem".
For what it's worth, I don't see a difference in the SERPs either way.

Screencap doesn't tell me much. What datacenter is that from?

Google is not supposed to be "case-sensitive"... Are you sure of this???
Cowboy, where are you from?

Each data center can show different results. That is why it was clearly explained that the final results would be determined from those that John saw when HE checked google.com

Apparently, it is case sensitive here in Texas, USA.
Are you telling me you don't see MamboHacks.com right now in #5?

I know that... my concern is whether "V7ndotcom Elursrebmem" or "v7ndotcom elursrebmem" is used. Like I said, these 2 searches produced different results as per my screen capture.

Cowboy on some days, depending on DC I too can see a shift by one or two spots by varying the case, but that's not all DCs, all the time, across the board. The few DCs that you are seeing case-sensitivity differentiation in SERP are more an anomolly than a general rule; Google practicing tweaking their word stemming results most likely. ANYWAY ... the call was made pursuant to the declared rules, nothing will change that now ... congrats to the winners.
What's next John??

Anomalies? Ok....for your information, this so-called anomaly of yours produced a page shift for some results, not just 1 and 2....

It's fine then... maybe next time, if you guys plan to do the same contest. Screen Cap the results.
Good Job on the contest, at least I learned something new.

I have a screenshot on my blog and it agrees with what John has posted for the winners. How about that John? We seem to agree. I'm marking this day on my calendar

I agree! Maybe not to debate the results, but at least for eye pleasure, or for nostalgy (for future times )

I was just going to link to that. That's exactly what I saw, but was a bit too busy to do a screencap.
And, Todd, I don't know of many disagreements between you and I. I think you're a right fine fellow, but some of your friends, not so much.

Congratulations All !
It's good to see so many familiar names in the lineup, talk about a close call !
I've had a fine time with this, and was chuffed to see so many people pull together at the last minute.
Well done everyone, and Hat Tip to you John, for a competition that most won't forget for some time. I know a number of folks have been motivated toward similar things, and I just love seeing people compete, especially when it's in such a congenial fashion.
Cheers,
JL
