I have 2458 links from a PR8 website.

They all link to one page on my website, the index page.

However, all the links come from different pages on the PR8 website.

Is this excessive? If so, what are the problems associated with it?

If it's not excessive, then how would you suggest it effects my website?

It's a link that occurs originally on over 100 different pages with different content. Probably over 200 pages by now.

No problems from Google, the link is not paid for either.

The website itself (not mine) has over 366,000,000 backlinks.

Google's sending notices for un-natural links and if you haven't received one I wouldn't worry about it.
If my math is right...you have 2458 links from the same site on 100 to 200 different pages? is that about right?...if it is thats about 16-17 links per page that all link to your home/index page? that could cause an issue, maybe not with you but the pr8 site and you could lose link juice if that site gets hit and with a practice like that it could..I can't believe a pr 8 site would do something like that. They could have phony pr.

But if you haven't got a note from Google through your Google account, again if you have one...then your ok.

If you have created backlinks from a way which is approved by google, then no problem. And the big amount does not matter. But I am very curious how you manged 2458 site having pr 8. Unbelivable. And you did not write that after making such great backlinks what is your own website pr. It is also PR8?

One question!
As you said links are not paid then how you get a PR8 site backlink for about 16/17 links per page or post! Its looks strange.
I am not arguing that it’s impossible to get a link from PR 8 site but having too much links from single domain looks suspicious (ignoring sitewide links).

I'm pretty sure I know which PR8 site it is, and if I am correct they are well established (10 years) and I can't see that you would have any problems.
