It can depend on the search query itself.

If it is a sudden drop that doesn't recover you may need to take a look at the Penguin update. http://www.v7n.com/forums/google-for...in-update.html

Hi seogame. I can tell you what's happening. You are spamming your titles, descriptions and keyword meta tags with the same phrase. Have you not read up on the "titles in search" algorithm update that Google implemented in January? I suggest you read it. Google now determine which titles and descriptions to display if the webmaster forgets to use them or incorrectly uses them. An example would be your spam titles or they will display alternative titles if the titles used are not relevant to the page content or the phrase typed in by the visitor. You are meant to give a true reflection of the page content, NOT repeating and stuffing keywords in your tags. I would go as far as to say, you are a candidate for the Penguin update. Reason been you to excessive with your keywords on your page. And I only had a 2min look.

Spammed titles is one of your problems.
According to Google, If your site lost ranking around 4-24 and later it's a good chance you've been hit by the new Penguin algorithm that rolled out a few days ago. The Penguin algorithms objective is targeting webspam, which includes, Little, poor or duplicate content, Hidden text, Keyword stuffing, Clocking, Link spam and schemes.
Take a look at the issues above, correct the problems then send Google and request for re-inclusion by going to your Webmaster Tools
Need to Hire someone for this task?
go to the following Looking to Hire forum and post your request...be aware and check out the people offering you service.
Good luck and Happy Ranking.

Patience Is A Virtue
I think that in time Google will update your title in the search. Many people want instant results with Google and other search engines but that's not the way it works. In time Google will make any corrections it need to as well as update your site in its engine.

Google usually does a deep search every 6 weeks and a shallow search every 2 weeks. But this depends on how important your site is. if google thinks your site is very important sometimes they are sending robots over your site every couple of hours.
Maybe fix some of the things mentioned and keep an eye out.

Had a quick look at the main page. You definitely need to have a look at your meta details and your title. I am afraid it is keyword stuffing. You need to describe your site in metadetails, and this will then be used as the description of your site in a google search. Google may have changed it because there are too many keywords in it.
You also have a ton of links on one page, and loads of flash and JS. limiting the flash and JS could be a good idea because search engine bots don't really know what to make of their code. You also have a lot of images that have no alt tags optimized.
To me, it would look like you have basically just over-optimized the title and meta details, and not worried about anything else.
Good luck though, I hope you are able to fix it and get your rankings back.

I always thought google could read flash, xml, swf files in the same way it reads html , I am not aware of any other search engines that can do this. I have never bothered with meta tags, other search engines use these but i was not aware that google still uses this. I thought google only pays attention to your H1, and your body text,I still use the H2 tag because its a good format but i dont even think this is needed anymore, I did a few tests and i am ranking well just using good titles and good body, nothing else. I make sure i include hint words in my body & title
such as - how can i , where can i , did ? do this , most people think google does not pay attention to these words, but i am quite sure that they do. I look at these as my secondary keywords, and my main keywords/keyword will be somewhere within the title.
Try not think of seo as being a huge task, Just write your articles in the bestway that suits your readers, make sure your keywords are in your titles and article and you do not really need to worry about anything else in regards to on-page seo
Over-optimized will more than likey confuse search engines, Try and make your site optimzed for your visitors and search engines should be thought of last.
Mpst people will say different but you will only know for sure when you do your own tests. This is the best way, Get a few little projects going along side your main project,do all your tests with your smaller projects, then the method that works, use that method with your main project. You can run mini tests on blogspot, worpress etc. You do not need to spend money to do this.
Good luck - keep us updated of how you get on, I have a feeling in a few days you will be back to the top, Most my friends who dropped over the last few days including me, are back up to postions one.

Try to use different title and description when you submit your website to directories, article directories, forums, etc... When you get a backlink one of the most important thing is to "spin" your title and description, but KEEP the keyword you want to rank for... Yes, it is hard, but believe me... It is effective!

Forgive me, but I don't see how pinging is going to help seogame with their titles.

It seems that Google is already doing that for seogame without him having to do a thing. Besides, in my humble opinion, I can't see how spinning titles, or anything else for that matter would help.

Try to use an updated title, and make it cache by Google. But if still you see a different Title then your current one after new cache. Then it might be under query or penalty.
