Negative SEO: Myths, Realities, and Precautions

I'm gonna share to you the article I read last week, since I found no existing topic about this here in SEO section, I created one. So here's my summary ...

Every SEO people is doing something good and working so hard to optimize their website very well. Doing all *good* things for the betterment of website they're SEO-ing. Time is so precious in SEO, I must admit. However this thought have changed after I read this video-article. I can't believe some people can attack website to make it penalized be lost in the circle. Though it sounds no brainer and always possible but I almost forgot that negative side of SEO. Here's the article:

If the niche is very competitive and a lot of competitors and results you may be got to spend considerably amount of money to make negative SEO for the rest of the top players in SERP. t is some sort of shooting in the dark cause Google might consider the SEO positive

I watched this earlier this morning and have to say that I was intrigued. I do not see how this can be a good model for anyone that is trying to hurt another site. As said in the earlier post, you may actually strengthen their site. The one thing that I do see negative SEO opening the door for is people doing something to their own site, and the trying to convince Google that it was not them. It should be interesting to see what the next few months bring.
