Do you think SEO is overrated?

Do you think too much time is spent by webmasters focusing on SEO rather than content creation?

I think we'll agree that basic SEO is important, but beyond that, do you think more SEO is worthwhile?

If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there, then does it make a sound?

If a website has great content and no one sees it, then is it worthwhile making the content?

Isn't content building part of SEO? or are you just talking about page elements?

and no it's not over rated...hell it's hardly even understandable anymore with Google's latest updates. but I agree good content is holds the user.

My question is about extensive SEO not any SEO.

Also, I'm trying to separate content building itself from SEO, but I agree all elements of a website are related to some extent.

Actually content optimisation is an important part of SEO. When I say content optimisation I don't mean only keywords, it also should be unique and relevant

SEO & Content Optimization should be in proper balance. Sometime, webmaster busy on making high quality content but there is no one to reach them and sometime busy in just doing SEO but there is no quality content. Both situation will made adverse effect in terms of SEO.

We also have to improve our business through SEO, increase our ranks, there is no other way ... Maybe large Web sites that rely on Web site content to improve ranking, small Web site through SEO, increase rankings through the BACKLINK.

I'd say SEO is overrated in the sense that Google has control of the world's biggest search engine and can toy around with its subjects as it sees fit. It's about time webmasters tone down the G-loving and start driving traffic through means other than SEO.
