Google will tell you that they are seeking to improve the user's search experience. I would suggest these changes also (by coincident, I'm sure) improve the revenue generation model.

I'm going to have to agree with indyball, especially with the recent updates that have all but attacked majority of SEO methods, onpage and off, Google is all about their bottom line these days. The idea is if they can cripple SEO enough, or scare enough away from it, then they can force people to buy adwords to get the front page.

If that were their goal, then they would just force people to STOP using Google.

What point would there be to use it?

(Continuing my line of reasoning from above)

If the ultimate goal of Google would be to make random sites appear at the top of SERP's, then it would be no different than a phone book.

It would in fact be just a directory with ads, whereby the only sites seen are sites that PAY to get in the directory.

If Google followed that path, then no one would use them for attempts to look up the answers to problems.

For example; Today my wife told me that the System Restore that I did two days ago wiped out all her files.

I know some sort of Virus got on her computer. However, I had no idea exactly what the attack was from. So I went to Google and started to type in long questions and sets of keywords related to the problem.

After 3 or 4 attempts I finally found it was a windows virus related to hiding all the files on the computer.

But if Google goes to ad-spam, whereby I can't find the solution, then I won't even bother to use Google at all.

I really hope Bill spends a few of his billions on Bing to make it better than Google so Big G can't screw us all anymore.

Yes, but he can still make it happen. As I said, his own money, not Microsoft's. What Microsoft executive would say no to that?

They are just doing their job... I am not mad at G, because of the latest update. My sites got hit, but this way I hope I will make them better... Spam is the worst enemy online, and they try to defeat it.

even after so many updates i don't see good sites coming in search ..! they just target those who have little knowledge of seo. Google is building internet in such a way that every company not only seo or it firms would require a seo to watch after the website as non it professionals using websites for business have little or no knowledge of seo. They would require to hire internet marketing experts. .!
