Keyword Synonyms

Let's say there is a keyword that I want to place high in and that it has 5 synonyms according to Google Keyword content on Webmaster tools.

The synonym is the group of 5 words of various forms.

In resolving my Keyword Density, do i need to be concerned with just an individual keyword or the entire family of keyword synonyms.

My #1 competitor on SERP has a 10.74% keyword density and it's only used 7 times.

Yes You can use keyword synonyms for reducing keyword density but make sure that not use keyword like keyword stuffing. Just use as general that will help you.

Cheers

I would be very careful with your keyword density across the family.

Measure your keyword density from the main keyword. But across the whole set I wouldn't go any higher than about 15%.

It's a fine balancing act. Focus on your main keyword though. Use the synonyms mainly for anchor text for backlinks. That's where they really come into their own in my opinion.

As we know that Google and other search engine count keywords synonym. I have used synonym words for main keyword which want to hing in rank. Synonyms reduce keyword density and improve content readability.

This is a great point. Improving readability is a top priority as far as I'm concerned.

As I always seem to be saying, optimise for humans as well as search engines!

to use different word for a keyword is very beneficial. Also you can spell some keywords wrongly spelt, if you think that people search with these terms. For example, I was working with some keywords and I had to work with Pop Up Display, and then Popup Display. Same with the Trade Show Display and Tradeshow Display
It is very good for averting keyword stuffing on your page.
