I don't believe that just because links come from the same niche that it would outweigh other negative factors that may be associated with them.

It depends. Links can harm your website if it's linked on link farms and spam sites. As far as I know Google wants atleast 50% of your links relevant with different variations of anchor text. The other 50% is for competitors who do negative SEO to your site.

Yeah, it is not just the number of links from a single website that counts but there are other factors too that does before the website's ranking is affected in the search engines. The quality of the website one is linked too and the way you are linked too with the content of the website is what is have more importance here.

The problem is that no-ones knows for certain what Google are doing regarding backlinks. But my 1.3 million has dropped to 1.2million, I will just have to wait until the rest of that site is crawled before they all finally disappear.

Don't worry about it. I offer free website content on a section of my site that links back to me, since 2001. Often bloggers add the content to their templates and I end up with a backlink from every post. Over 11 years, it really ads up. I have yet to see any drop in the SERPs as a result. I can't control it, and I'm sure Google is aware of this fact. They may not count when it comes to useless PR, so no harm done.

I think much of link building is inherently a "non-natural" process. The trick is to make it look as natural as possible. With regards to the possibility of linking patterns hurting a site's rankings, the search engines should be very cautious about inappropriately penalizing sites so as to make their algorithm more vulnerable to negative SEO tactics.

As a matter of plain fact, it is not suggested to do, while I'm not sure on the part of will it harms you?
Another reason you should not get heavy bundles of back-links from a mere website as if it gets down for any reason, it will surely affect your ranking.

too many back links on same site can be harmful because Google only focuses on Quality now not on Quantity.

If you can remove some of the low-quality backlinks it would be great, try NOT to receive more than 100-150 backlinks from ONE website. It could not harm your website this time, but pay more attention in the future, because this would look UNNATURAL for google

I think that it could harm your site in the future, as a large amount of links from a single site does look kind of suspicious.
To be safe I would try to diversify as much as possible.

Getting indexed is pretty easy. Just link to your new site from a few established ones and your site should get indexed very quickly. Getting your site to rank well is a different story.

See it depends on search engine strategy. Google could be treated these back links as spamming and it will harm your domain or throw your website ranking far away. i suggest you kindly read all rules n regulations of panda and strictly follow the Google protocols to maintain the good rankings...
