There is no reason that you cannot submit internal pages from your site...
I have for years and have not experienced any negative effect.....

There are numerous engines that do not have crawlers....
Including some specialty engines..
Your unusual niche might not appear on a targeted engine...unless you submit to that engine(s).....

If you use the service suggested by Snakeair in the post prior to yours (and in the way advised), it only takes a few minutes and can't do any harm.

IMO, submitting your website to the long list of search engine not necessarily mean search engine submission. The search submission what supposed to mean is submitting your sitemap to the major search engines such as Google, Bing. Due to the withdrawal of Yahoo Site Explorer, unexpectedly Yahoo! doesn't have this option now for search engine submission. Things are constantly getting change in search engine at very fast pace. Let's see what is going to happen next.

As many of above have view that this is waste of time to do search engine submission.
What is inside ,do all other engines take data or influenced by top search engines(google, yahoo, bing etc).
Would it be sufficient to submit to few engines rather than many more?

Of course this is almost as waste of time I agree pakblogger2012 comment. Just think about it how many search engines are available and popular in the industry. The answer is very few and the major three Google, Bing, Yahoo are popularly being used in the Industry. The earlier report says that Google is being used more than 80% of internet population; the remaining 20% is for remaining search engine usage among the people. Gladly the usage of Bing search engine is increasing in usage. Therefore there is no need to spend much of your time in doing submissions for other rest of the major three search engines.

Search Engine Submission is not harmful at all, target those search engines where your website can be searched.

Hi
Submitting to search engine is good thing. The crawler will index at least any of page of our site anyhow. So the traffic to our site will increase. It also increases the visibility of our website in search engines.
Can you please provide the large list of search engines?

FYI, only do this once for a brand new website. Once any search engine visits your site, they will keep coming back when new content is added.

FYI, you only need to submit your site to the search engines one time and that's it. Use a sitemap to do the rest. The bot's will find peoples sites if they make them crawlable.

Spending your time on submitting to the search engines would be really a waste of time. Its not 1990 still. We are in 2012 now. Search engines are far more advanced than many of you think. All you need is a link from a site that is already indexed in the search engines and your site will be indexed too.
FYI, Google, Bing and Yahoo constitute 90% of the search engine traffic. And they are really very good at indexing. Trust me. I never spent any time to submit to any of the search engines. I better utilized that time in building links and working on my own blog.

I think its better to focus on increasing PR of your website by other means. Once you get good PR, you'll be automatically picked up by search engines.

I don't have a high PR but i get a good amount of steady traffic and good rankings. PR is just a number and won't get you ranked on page 1. To get PR you need quality backlinks and over-all have your site SEO'd to death.
Just focus on getting unique traffic and don't worry about PR. Without traffic, your site is a waste of server space.
FYI, I only submitted to Google, MSN (was MSN at the time) and Yahoo when i first launched my site. The other search engines eventually begain indexing my site as I was and still am marketing my site.
