MSN is Bing with a new name.

They wanted to start over fresh I guess and change the name and put money into the search engine. MSN search had a bad reputation and just sucked basically.

FYI, only do this once for a brand new website. Once any search engine visits your site, they will keep coming back when new content is added.

Definitely! although some search engine had already upgraded their systems but still old or new style as long as you incorporate some updated ideas will still be useful for your website. All of these were still applicable and it is still very effective until these days.

In my point of view,If you promote a website in the directories of Google and Yahoo, a search engine submission is done.for example A web host company submits a website to Google, Yahoo and Bing to speed up the process of the website being found. Although such search engines already have their own spiders and crawlers to find websites on the internet, it would still be advantageous to do website submission for updating purposes.

Search engine submission is good for indexing your website. But it is really waste because the website you submit will be in sand box for nearly 3 months for reviewing the website. Then how to get indexed in SE? There is good way to be indexed in SE without getting into the sandbox. Social bookmarking is the best way to index your website withou getting into the sand box.

Search engine submission is refers to get your current web site indexing in search engines. An additional phrase for this is google search registration. Once your website getting listed , It doesn't mean that you will get specifically position, It is the term that Google search is aware of your current webpage are present. Even though I can say that It is as beneficial to getting visibility and good traffic of your website.
