First of all, have you done any SEO for your blogs? I believe you wouldn't have. Anyways, when you just do proper SEO and get relevant links from good pagerank websites you must be fine and your website will be ranked well.

It doesn't matter whether you have a website or a blog, all that matters is what content you have and what links you build.

Google always love fresh content than static pages. However, this is not the thing and reason for losing your rank. check your google webmaster tools account for any warnings are messages.
