Yahoo does give a lot of weight to on-page contents. Perhaps you can work on keywords in title tags. Try to limit the number of keywords you optimize for each page - you can't optimize 30 keywords on a single page. It also helps by including keywords in h1 h2 tags.
How long has your site been up? I have noticed recently that Yahoo has a rather long delay for new sites, even longer than Google.
I always put keywords in the H1 title tag of the page as well as the meta title tag. Also once in the first paragraph of the first sentence and then spread out in the page where it's releveant.
I was having the same problem with yahoo, but just recently I got nailed with a ton of traffic from them. I just think it takes time for your site to advance in the yahoo rankings. I didn't change a thing and just all of a sudden, it hit me like a ton of bricks, now it's a pretty sweet deal.
I get most of my traffic form msn, but the last few months i've been getting a lot of traffic from yahoo. Is mostly on sites that over 6 months old and have a lot of content and links. I have some sites on yahoo that are ranked #1 for 4 keywords and it has no meta tags at all. They took keywords the page content.(go figure)
As per my knowledge yahoo considering Age of links too.. more old links are more reliable. i also experinced same problem months before and now my rankings are pretty well for my keywords in yahoo rather than google and MSN

I agree, but if they get ranked so well on Google, age of links should not be a problem for him in my opinion
On-page content goes fine with Yahoo. Especially make sure to put keywords in the title of page. Yahoo isn't very fast at indexing links, but seems like Yahoo loves the titles more.
I think Yahoo! can be fooled by Co-Op Advertising (Link Vault) really easily. I got nearl 2,000 links in about a month using it But it's always a risky measure and you should limit the amount of links each day.
