Question Can you comment on my site description

Hello all,

As i wanted to do a SEO for my site (i would be officially launching my site tomorrow) , i was suggested to change the site description of my site for directory listings....

The old one which i was using was :

The one stop portal to all the cool websites and free stuff on the internet. We bring to you a growing collection of freebies and freeware

The new modified one i came up with :
KoolLog.com - Offers freeware and free stuff "All for free" - free online games, free ecards, free web hosting , free music downloads, free email , free clip art, free screensaver , free ringtone and much more.We are the FREEONES.

A question :

Is free repeated too much in the description or can i make away with the word free repeated again and again .Comments on the description pease

Also how important is a site description in terms of SEO

If you don't use a description the SERPS will use text content from your homepage. You might also want to add an S to these: free screensaver , free ringtone and much more.

I don't think free is repeated to much in there.

As far as the site description weighs in for SEO, the text content of your homepage is more important than the desc. for SEO reasons. If you want to rank for those words, I would suggest getting them plugged in here and there on your homepage and throughout the rest of your website.

Whether it's for directories or a meta decription tag the description you write is going to have more impact on getting someone to click on your link that for improved ranking.

I think it's ok to use the repetion of the word free though I would remove "All for free" and We are the FREEONES. I think the description will read much better without both.

Again though all the use of the word free probably isn't going to have much effect in improving your rank in search engines so it's up to you whether to use it or write something that will get someone to click on the link. After reading the description I certainly get the idea that you offer plenty of free things. However I would also get the same idea if you mentioned it only 2 or 3 times.

If I'm reading one of these to decide to click or not... I would click the first, but not the second. the second one seems spammy to me.

i agree the 2nd one is too spammy, looks more like keywords.

and the word free just puts me off anyway as you end up finding its not for free, perhaps yours mite be free but still i will never find out cos i will never go in, but thats just me.

I like the 1st one better. The other one does look a bit spammy.

Hi,

Description is very important. But SEs won't take content from the description always. It will use the body text, even if you have description tag.

Add good content
Add good one-way links
