How does Google rank Dynamic DNS sites?

Hello all,

It has been a long time since my last post here, but I thought that someone here may know the answer to this question. How does Google count sites that use Dynamic DNS? For example, if I used Dynamic DNS to shorten a url (say from http://example.com/myaccount/3309439...read&example=2 to http://myexample.net) would Google see the redirect from the Dynamic DNS domain to my real site? Or would Google count it a two separate sites? Worst still, would Google count it as a separate site with duplicate content? Would there be any penalty from Google for this? Thanks.

Hey thanks for the reply!

What I mean is this: would Google see this as another site, or see it as your site. I have heard that www.yoursite.com is seen as a seperate site from yoursite.com. Would this be the same for dns redirects like Dynamic DNS. Especially if the redirect is from another ip address. What about duplicate content? Thanks again.

If its a normal redirect (is it 303 redirect??) then Google will NOT (as far as I am aware) count it as two sites, but one.

Thanks for the reply Jamsi. That sounds about right. I have done some research on the matter and found a page at W3 that hints at what you are talking about:

http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html

I guess that you can't get a better resource than that! However, I am not sure that Dynamic DNS counts as a 303 redirect. If it does, then it should act as outlined on the link above. Thanks for your input.
