Changing Hosts and IP address – impact on SERPS

I have some domains that need to be moved over to a new home, and will receive a new IP address. What is the impact on changing IPs? Some of the sites have good PR, and I hate to see them dry up.

We've migrated a couple sites this year to new web hosts, on a new block of IP's. Two totally different websites over to completely different servers in different parts of the country. Both websites kept the PR and more importantly their good rankings in the SERPS.

It seems to have no impact on PR or rankings.

I had a site go down while I was on vacation, because the host messed up a billing issue. The site had solid SE rankings. I switched it to a new host/IP as soon as I found out about the downtime (about 24 hours). The rankings never skipped a beat, held steady on all 3 major SEs.

Changing an IP address for particular site shouldn't be having an impact to se rankings if done good.
