Buying Links
I am considering buying some inbound links to our website.
Can anybody suggest some routes to get well worded links and what budget to spend to get found for the keywords 'Italian English Translation'. Would be super happy to get on page 1 for google.co.uk.
Been doing quite a few posts lately as I still learning................

You can always use AdEngage or AdBrite to buy text ads on good websites, I personally think AdEngage will yield more clicks than AdBrite though.

Hi Sixty6,
We are a niche service provider - Axis Translations
We offer translation services, so I don't expect to get any kind of click-through-rates.
What I am after is boosting page rank and getting my site found through searches. Do you think those 2 companies you mentioned might assist?

You need to build inbound links somehow. Try one of the link networks. They do work.

For SEO purposes I don't recommend Adbrite since their links are not static.

I recommend buying links on the forums. If you go to a link selling site they jack up the prices. You are simply paying for the middle man. Post here and on other forums, DP, SP, that you want to buy links and people will very much give you all the information you want. You simply pick and choose the best deals. Look for traffic, PR, inbound links, etc.

Instead of buying links, which google often don't like, you should try to find legit websites in your area of business and swap links with them, or get some of your previous clients to link to you for a discount - these inbound links would be of much higher value !
Regards
Anders

AdEngage and AdBrite aren't meant for PR. They're meant for traffic. If you want PR, try going after link exchanges and co-op as well as paid inclusion.
You could also put it in your sig and start posting on the forums, it's what I did and I got my PR4 with little SEO Work

I propose doing something like this with your budget:
20% Directory Links
10% Press Release Linking
20% Article Distribution Links
30% Blog Networking and Blog Coverage
20% Paid Site Advertising (which could include linking)
And also mixing in
* Linkbaiting (give people a reason to link to you for free)
* Local Links from Local Guides and YellowPages
* Profiles on Yahoo Business, Amazon.com, MySpace, YouTube
* Making friends in your business field and trading links with them
* Mailing some industry authority sites & blogs and asking for a link

Thanks for your plan. I am on with the directories, article distribution and touching on some of your other ideas.
Blogs - I started my own blog. But do you mean writing on other peoples blogs? Please could you expand on this part of the strategy.
Link Baiting - Any ideas for what and how would be appreciated. We are a translation company Axis Translations

The problem I see here is that you end up with reciprocal links. I understood that these have a decreasing value and that oneway or triangular links are better. Or would you see this as part of the strategy?

Hi Web10,
But, for instance, will buying one PR7 link well worded from a keyworded site have a big diference?
Would it have much of a diference against posting 10 articles for instance?
I just wonder what you get in the way of SERP. As if it takes loads, then this could become a money pit strategy. What is your experience?

its dependant on where the articles are posted and whether they are taken up. Just one page rank 7 link wont affect the SERP's much in your industry. They will affect your page rank but its not as relevant these for search relevancy.
I currently have a page rank 2 site ranking above page rank 7 sites going for the same high competition keyword. Its all about quality content, internal link structure and anchor text link partners

i agree, i have seen many instances where lower PR sites out rank higher PR sites. But based on your next comment, "its all about quality content, internal link structure and anchor text links partners," then i think one PR 7 site will help you with the SERPS. i mean it should be of relevant content. That link will probably hold strong power in the SERPS. if you have competitive keywords, its going to take more then one site to bring your ranking up thought but it will be a strong contributor.

i agree a one way link is best. but i don't avoid reciprocal linking. i rarely send out requests, but if someone finds me and i like their site, then i will do it. or turn it into a three way link exchange at the least with one of my many sites.
