Need some SEO advice, plus my sites 1 month birthday!

Hello I am new to web design, I have recently been working on getting my forum indexed by google. I used a mod_rewrite to make all of my forum topics static. But the only pages that have been listed are those not affected by the mod_write...here is a link to my indexed pages in google.

http://www.google.com/search?q=site:...FA:en&filter=0

Also, I didn't know weather to put a google sitemap in my root directory or my forum root directory so I put on in both, and submitted both. Is this a bad idea, if so which one should I keep. I appreciate any help I can get in advance...take care!

P.S - As long as I have an open thread, my site just had its 1 month birthday. We have had about 1,500 unique visitors, 10,000 page views and 52 members with 510 posts. Considering I had no outside help as far as posting and recruiting, are we off the a good start?

Grassrootin it and myspace, I have been trying to think a lot about marketing and I feel like I have had some clever idea's. One is to run a contest for a free glass pipe (my forum is marijuana related) then advertise the free pipe on myspace vs. the page. Also, I have been trying to implement some viral marketing techniques, I have spent some good time making entertaining surveys with my website thrown in as a question ex:

Have you visited always420forum.com, no one can truly call themselves a stoner without a visit...
a) of course
b) going right now
c) whats always420forum.com

I try to make the surveys as funny and entertaining as possible and riddle them with "re post this survey or else" messages. I was always the person who detested chain letters, although I must admit it works!

if you don't mind me suggesting something, try this...

Find bands on myspace that would be interested in your forum... aka "kind" bands... for ex: http://www.myspace.com/soja

And offer a link exchange... I think the more you get listed and linked with bands with fans who smoke it, the better...

just a thought...

Unless your forum is in a separate subdomain, just have a sitemap in your root directory.

Looks like a good start, dont worry I am sure google will eventually index all or most of your URL's they are just slow at indexing forums for some reason.
