Increase in traffic and cant see why????????????
( Sorry I didnt know where to post this )
OK I have had a big increase in traffic and I cant see why , its not bothering me if it stays like this lol but it is a big increase
as you can see, but I looked at the refer links and cant see anything also keywords look right the only thing that looks funny is the
Code:
Origin Pages Percent Hits Percent
Direct address / Bookmarks = 16034 / 94.2% / 18169 / 94.5%
do you think it could be that?
also has this ever happend to you lot

it is a good thing, but with it going up so fast it looks funny and could be something unwanted also if its going to stay then its good but if its going to drop then it doesnt look good as I cant find where its coming from.

Maybe a newspaper or magazine which would result in direct hits rather then from a site.

yer your right it could be, but hits have to come from somewhere, so wouldnt these show up in the stats? or would they be classed as a bookmarked hit, cos they typed it in the browser.

Since they are typed into the browser, they would be considered bookmarks/direct hits and not show up in your refer list

My brothers website has seen a greater increase using AW around the same period but cant figure out where the traffic is from. Google Analytics and AdSense doesn’t see the increase. This is weird. Who are hosted with?

No idea. Its eating my brother bandwidth from 300 visitors a day to 3000. No images are doing taken from the server so no one is hot linking. Maybe it’s a new spider because it is happening the same time.
