Google cache OLD version of site

About 4 months ago my company decided to release a new site. we bought the domain and put a redirect on the domain name to our main site.

about a month after that we put strictly info about VoIP services on the site to just have content and help the page get indexed. when doing this we removed the redirect.

one month after that, i uploaded the content of the site of what it should actually be. if has been there for about 2 months now.

when i check the cached version of Google, it shows my main site, where the re-direct originally was, not even an earlier version of the site. it was last cached on august 14.

can anyone explain why this happening and how to get around it? there are links to this site. not many but i have started to build links to it. according to yahoo i have about 194 links to my site. what is going on.

URL www . hip tel . com -- just eliminate the spaces

I don't want to remove the spaces lol...

Give me a link to your homepage and the link to the page you DON'T want indexed by Google (the old one)

or you can simply do a 301 redirect in .htaccess:

Quote:
redirect 301 /oldfile.html http://www.hiptel.com/
That way it just redirects to your homepage and any link juice you had to that file is now sent to your homepage!

The old file would drop out in a month at the most (I just did a HUGE htaccess redirect for sixty6arcade.com)

oh just so you know I was seeing the same result as you, but I think it was a simple rollback and it was restored now..

autoecart is on the right pathautoecart is on the right pathautoecart is on the right path
Google is still sorting itself out from its last update. Alot of sites have been seeing their old cache show up temperarily now and then. I believe its Google in its attempt to clean out the spam sites.
