New site - Build or Wait?

I have a few urls that are still in the planning stages. I will not actually start on them until next year - summer.

Is it better to just let them sit idle collecting dust until then, or should I place some content, like a directory with similar theme and start building the PR.

Searching the internet, I have seen arguments for both. I tend to think building is the best plan.

What say you!?

Best - DEL

I tend to forward them to some other site I have, I think I have about 50 or so domains that I intend to use pointing at one main one at the moment.

Stops them collecting dust at least, there is no point putting sites / directories on them if you are just going to change them.

Hmmm, I might get the websites going now with at least some sort of content 1 to 3 pages - so SE's can start the count when your website was started. Plus it will give them some sort of idea how to classify your website to a theme or industry. Throw a couple keywords into the 5 paragraphs of text that talks about how killer the surfing is in Del Mar. Make it ez on yourself and start a page{s} for future linking when you get the time.

Don't wait to get your theme established if you can afford the time it takes to do it. It could help minimize how long your new website will be sandboxed for your targeted key terms.

I'm with Webfu. Get up a simple page or two, place a few links, and let the Google clock start ticking.

You really will be happy if you launch your domains with separate web hostings now, because next year, when you intend to work on them seriously, your already good news can be that many of them have escaped the Sandbox.

Absolutely start to build your link popularity.

Starting today, next year / summer you'll have a strong web site (talking in popularity terms) to do your business...
