To Launch or Not to Launch
Hello. I am also just starting a website. I don't like submitting to directories because they might only accept complete websites. I am not sure if I should submit a website that is still in the building process.
My site is PhilTradeMarket. Should I submit to website directories? Is this a good idea? Thanks in advance.

Only submit to a few good ones, and get a blog, and start posting on other people's blogs. Say what you have to say, that can be the best form of indirect advertising.

IMO blog and site should be on the same domain.

But as for Providence's question, It's unlikely you'll get in a good directory if your site is incomplete.

It's usually in their terms of service e.g. Yahoo:
"The site must not contain any parts under construction"
from:
https://ecom.yahoo.com/dir/reference/submit
Fairly standard criterion.
