Danny Sullivan Leaving SEW & SES
What impact (if any) do you feel Danny Sullivan leaving SEW & SES will have on the SEO world as a whole?

That really depends upon where he lands/what he does.

Feels like maybe there is more to this story than we are hearing publicly. I could be way off base, but I have a feeling he already knows exactly where he is going to land.

Not much, cant say I have ever found anything he says of any interest. Hes an SEO expert but then again I have been doing SEO for 6-7 years and I think I know enough...

Danny is a huge part of SEO. Google and other engines talk to him when they don't talk to others in the industry.

Agreed, he seems to have uber guy stature with them, I just never found most of the things I read on the site very interesting. Granted he was / is a pioneer, shame he is stepping down but then again he sold SEW and SES a few years back, time to retire I guess
I guess its a big loss to the industry as a whole, someone will have to pick up and try on some very large boots now if they want to take his place.

I doubt it. I think he wants to run his own show now.

Would be interesting to find out why hes done it exactly and what he is going to do now...
I cant imagine him setting up another site, although I think it would be an immediate sucess, people like Danny dont just disappear, hes going to hunger for it and he will be back.

It is a shame that he is leaving SEW after so many years.
I expect him to run some sort of conference next year

A) I think he's probably off to start his own thing.
B) He is a huge piece of SEO and people do talk to him (agree with John there)
C) Where he goes is more important than where he's been (Spot on, Cricket)
Here's wishing him the best!
Eric
