Google indexing

Google and Yahoo do not index many of my pages for this site http://www.axistranslations.com

The site has about 400 pages and it might be sandboxed for growing to quick. Any ideas how I can get these pages indexed?

I have tried doing a sitemap. No luck though.

give it some time... google will eventually do a deep crawl of your site... just make sure you get lots of inbound links from busy sites...

of course, if your site has a high pr and is frequently updated, google will crawl your site more often...

For fast indexing, it is important to get more backlinks from already indexed sites. Add sitemap in your site. Sitemap is very useful. Sitemap gives all information all about your site to spiders. All these points will help you in fast indexing.

I agree with kiviniar...make sure you have a site map, list all pages with brief description, that will help googlebot and others understand what your whole site is about and help index subpages. Note: *Make sure site map link is on index page*

Didn't we look at this site somewhere else?

It looks like you have tons of pages in the Supplemental Index.

How many pages total on the site?

Site Map
Authority Links
Lots of Links
Some Deep Links

I couldn't agree more. Links in forum signatures (specially if the forum is as big as V7N) will get your website indexed much faster than by submitting the URL to google.

True... you can check back with google... just type "your website" in google search it will appear with things like similar to, link to , contain term of, etc. For starter, it will drop under the "contain term" and later it will become "link to".

Yes, big sites hi PR sites are visited by robots more better than small.
And you can use also high PR social bookmarking tools like technorati, del.icio.us. Here is the link to free report - http://www.mavericksocializer.com/free-report.html
Also try to buy links from high sites with PR. It can give you an indexing boost.

Does the Sandboxing effect only done in the particular region say for example US or everywhere by the search engine Google?
How do we know that our site is sandboxed for a particular keyword? or It is merely a assumption

"Sandbox" isn't an entirely quantifible entity - IMO 90% of "sandbox" cases are where SEOs have over optimised their sites and aren't ranking where they *think* they should.

400 pages isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things so it's unlikley you have been in any way penalised (or otherwise) for this - many sites grow at a much greater rate from launch and do just fine.

Back to specifics:

- 301 redirect the non www version of your domain to the www version - both appear to be indexed and could be competing with each other (ie, one may be considered as duplicate content).

- Your main problem is that you have duplicated a load of pages, simply replacing the language / keyword in the text. Search engines can spot this. These pages are most likely largely ignored.

Problem is that as a 'translation' company my search terms will always be 'language translation' e.g 'italian translation' or 'french translation into english'

So it is a bit difficult not have such duplications. I am planning to try to vary the content a bit though.

Hi Buskerdoo. I have asked questions before. So perhaps you checked it out on a previous topic. But this is the first thread for me on this problem.

There is about 400 pages

How old is your site? it does as mentioned take just a little time to get a whole site indexed.

HOWEVER, if you are only getting say a couple of pages indexed it could be that there is something stopping the spiders.

Double check that your linkage is correct - and avoid java, slap some plain html links in

Google has now found loads more of my pages.

My new problem is going to be making each of those pages more original. For instance I have pages on 'Portuguese Translation' 'Greek Translation' German Translation' 'French Translation' 'etc' Its going to take ages to add extra diferences so those pages do not look spammy. Any bright ideas to make my life easier?

people he/she has already one in html.

add your site in several relative directories or your clients may be registered in some site about translators, if so get a link from there.
You may submit a press release.
You may start a directory of useful resources about translations.
