Multiple Domains On 1 Server SEO

I have about 50+ domains and what i was going to do was have a holding page with links pointing to other domains on the same server.

What is the advantages/disadvantages and will Google see this as bad?

Not really a big deal - it won't carry much weight. Potentially if you interlink all the domains they could be viewed as a link network.

To be honest I think a more productive approach would be to create a few pages of content for each relating to the subject area you intend for the domains - get the content indexed and a few links from other sites. When you are ready to develop the domains they will have a history and shouldn't have too much trouble getting indexed.

I did this for a site - had SEO related content online for about 18 months before I launched a site on the domain. When it was eventually launched, the content starting ranking OK (domain didn't have many IBLs so the rankings weren't great, but better than starting with a completely "new" domain).

Are your domains setup as sub domains or do you have a Authoritive DNS server with fifty domains being pointed to?
A heap of search engines would note the IP addresses of the domains and class them as related to the links between them woould be worthless and Google wouldn't even show them as links.

My search engine is at www.linknz.co.nz and we have a web directory at www.linkoz.co.nz which is in fact on the same server, Google doesn't register tha links that exist between the two sites so we could get another DNS server to point to the domains and not us our DNS server this would then show as links.
Engines like Yahoo and MSN don't seem to worried by this and show the links between the sites.

Well I think Google may penalize you for this thinking that you are trying to cross link the sites and give the benifit to the other sites.
