How to increase traffic?

I'm new to the field of being an SEO person. I am handling and promoting a website at this moment. I would just to like to ask you guys how will I increase my traffic to site I'm handling?

I'm doing the works of an SEO specialist, but the status of my site as of this day is low. Could you give me a piece of advice to increase my traffic?

You simply need to create unique, quality content and get backlinks.

Then you need to fix onpage factors, usability, accessibility.

Then you market your website.

Grazie, it's about have the most relevant content and having good relevant content pointing back to you(links). Remember especially for Google they want to return the most relevant result. When you don't show up in the serps look at the sites that do and try to make a better web page/site than they have. Relevance-Relevance-Relevance! Oh yeah did I say relevance? Remeber be relevant

I agree. I have learned everything I need to know about seo from reading and asking questions in formus like this. We all know that we can pretty much google anything and come up with answers, but sometimes that can be overwelming if you know what I mean. Now, that I am more knowledgable in seo, I hope I can help others with what I have learned.

Now to your question, I starting promoting my site in January and basically I have posted in forms with my link, submitted to tons of free directories, acquired some quality link exchanges with related sites and submitted a few articles. Also, I did some one page seo by including more keywords on my site. By doing that, I have mananged to get really good rankings in all three search engines...finally. It does take time and patience, but very rewarding when you finally see the results you are looking for. Good luck!

Yeah, you are absolutely right janet. It is really rewarding when you see the results that you are looking for. But for now, my stats are up and down. Coz sometimes, my traffic is low sometimes it's not. But as much as possible,I wanted to have a high consistent traffic to my site. And I am eager to do that.I hope that one of this days, I'll be able to have that.

Hi Grazie1,

Usually I wouldn't encourage to touch SEO until you have mastered articles or blogging mainly for the reasons such as it takes a good research of keywords to master it.

Article submission is a good way to start getting traffic because you will be able to have them there almost permanently even if its out of date and article directories just archive them and does not delete them.

Make sure that you anchor text or resource box is related to the article itself.

I could rant on and on.. but hey.. lets get back to the single most powerful tip for you = research keywords.
