Article Submission becoming Extinct?

I've heard article submission is becoming more and more dead now and pretty much useless.

What articles sites are out there that are still of some use?

Does this go for the same as directories etc.? Are google picking up on this?

Article submission is old style SEO. If you have some good unique content not for your website/blog, then you should find a relevant, authorative website to post it on. Or if it's for your blog, then link back to it when you are link building

Still there is no such post from Matt Cutts that Article submission is Dead. If your article is good enough to provide quality of useful information to the user, your content will get viral and your keyword will improve automatically. So what matters is the quality of the content in your article.

No its wrong. Still you can get quality links from article submission but keep in mind that always submit unique and fresh content . Duplicate content harmful for your website.

Article submissions don't provide the value they use to. Some of them are still great. Some of them are horrible. Learn how to conduct a back link audit, then you'll have a better idea on which sites to use.

Ezinearticles is a pretty good article submission site. They've been around since 1998 the same year Google came into existence. They've survived many Google panda penguin updates and continue to receive natural article submissions from authors to this very day. Why don't you created an account and submit an article there. Or, you can create an account and submit a hub to HubPages. With HubPages, you can make money from Google AdSense, eBay, and Amazon with your unique affiliate ID after publishing a new hub. You can also include up to three links back to specific pages in your blog or website which will benefit your long-term search engine optimization goals.

Article submission is still alive but content must be unique and not submitted same article in different sites.

I agree with roger. Great and unique content can still get you quality links if not from the submitted site, there is a chance that readers find it interesting and link back to our site for more interesting blogs.

it is, to some extent. tell you why - redundancy. you submit one article to a directory, a crawler picks it up and puts it on a different site. all in the bid of making automated money.

Yes. Quality site and unique content is very important when it comes to article submission sites. You can try out goarticles. The same goes for directories. Do not build too many links on it but yes high quality directories can be made use of.

Selective article submission can still be effective though the days of mass submission are long gone. Build in the occasional article to your link building/site promotion strategy, sure. It might get picked up and re-published and those resource box links are always there.

I still get traffic from articles submitted years ago - mainly from Ezinearticles and Goarticles.

Things have evolved and whilst article submission isn't as great as it once was, it's not exticnt. Use it along with other stuff such as document sharing and converting articles in to videos for YouTube etc to mix it up. Links in the video description are another source of potential traffic.

Yes it seems useless but original content with a link to the article is always useful

Why would you add the article link on your article?

If it's original then you need no link because you wrote it from scratch off the top of your head.

What do you think about article submission?
