You need to be careful with stuffing keywords into comments as it can become spammy and get deleted/not authorised anyway.

Mark.

Putting your keyword on the name field is one and there are some blogs that allow the use of html code. However tone it down, dont comment too much it may appear like a spam.

Don't put keywords in your comments ever because this consider spam links
just your name or your brand name

I don't care if the commenter posts the best comment ever, if they use keywords for username then they obviously can not read nor follow directions and I ban them. In fact some blogs like mine have a comment policy so we can just ban people when they disregard the comment section rules.

Good article posted above.

Why?

Doing this proves you can not follow directions when the blog owner wants to know your name.

In public, I don't address you by your keyword name. Very unprofessional.

I do suggest that not to include your keywords in the name field, Use your original name, a valid e mail address for comment in blog.
This is quite good to get a do follow from blog owner or adminstrator.

Why put your keyword in the name section? You are in SEO and should know this is not a way to make a quality blog comment.

Do you have any thoughts on the previous replies in this thread and even the link that was posted from a well respected SEO blog?

I didn't think people still used keywords as their name. It is so obviously spam when you see it and Google will also see it that way

I agree with this, its really annoying seeing those kinds in you blog. Doing this will put you to more chances of being spam. Another point, yes it's unprofessional. Just do great comments and remember that even a comment can share information, so why not just do the right thing?

Its not a good idea to place keyword instead of your name. It would look spammy and get rejected straight away. The best way is make your keyword part of your comment and place a link (using html code), if it is allowed. Insert your keyword in such way that it looks natural and also make sense as a complete sentence.

It depends to what kind of blogs you want to comment on, basically you should be commenting to the blogs with relevant content to yours by that it can be easier to add in your keywords. But i wouldn't advice you to do that becaause that can be spamming.

Just be sure that you're posting on relevant blogs. Stay away from links on irrelevant content. Some blogs allow it and some don't. However, they are def good links.

Never put keyword as a user name. Put your keyword in html tag like if you comment on particular blog then write below html code.
<a href="www.yourdomain.com">your keyword</a>
