I agree. I use this tool when I do backlink audits for clients. You still need to look at the actual linking sites though to determine if it is a good link or not. You can't just rely on the tool. I see all the time where the tool says a link is bad when it is good or the reverse. For example, many high authority sites like the Wall Street Journal are owned by publishing companies that have other sites on the same server and the sites link to each other (many times in the footer). LinkDetox has flagged this type of link as a bad link because it looks like it is part of a "link network."

In terms of safety and quality we must try to get associate and build links with our business theme related websites, on-topic things should have to be published, there are some quality websites which we can use. We have to avoid rich anchor texts, bulk spammy work also.

There are many tools which evaluates link quality, you can use all of them. But you can't rely solely on it. Don't remove or disavow link because tool reported. Check it manually before you take any action.

You should check Google's guidelines and read them carefully in order to get an idea of what is the right way to do it. A backlink should natural to your website. If a website that don't appear that good and has many links to many websites, then its not a good source and you should avoid it.

Just analyze your backlinks using tools such as ahref etc. Check their anchor text, does it contain bad or spammy keywords. Does it relevant to your site or not. Check their outbound link, does it have many outbound link. I think that's enough, do it, but don't overdo it.

You can get many tools for analyzing backlinks. But there is no any tool that will check quality of backlinks. You have to do it manually. So check few points such as website DA, PR, relevancy.
