Keywords

Hi all.
I'm going to soon launch my website(www.digitaldummies.com).This website would help people about computer viruses. You can visit my last website at www.virustimes.cjb.net/oldindex.html

that website wasn't much of a success cuz of the pop ups and other stuff.Anyways..now I'm going to redesign the whole website and launch it on the domain digitaldummies.com.My target niche would be anyone who has a computer virus and is looking for free help regarding it..or anyone who just wants information on protection against viruses.I need some advice on which keywords I should target. Please see this file:

http://www.virustimes.cjb.net/Keywords3.txt

and advise me on which keywords I should target.By the way,I got these keywords from Overture Search term suggestion tool, and the term "Demand" displays the number of searches done for that keyword in the last month according to Overture tool. While supply displays the number of results that were found when that keyword was searched in Google. And "Supply-Demand" displays the the results of the demand when subtracted from the supply.I put up this category to help identify the relavancy of a keyword.So..plz help me.Also advise me a bit on what I should do in order to get high rankings for the keywords. Thanks a bunch!!

Well the most obvious and probably most difficult would be "computer virus" or possibly more difficult "virus"

You need to do plenty of research - overture is one place, but also check out the free trial at wordtracker.com.

That should highlight the terms being searched for.

If you're trying to do all the SEO yourself then it's probably best advised that you aim first for the smaller search trems, and build up to the larger ones.

Effectively, though, you need links - lots of links - to your site. You should also find some good info on basic info about general/baic SEO issues about this site - try the main index page if you're not sure: http://www.internet-marketing-research.net

You got to be top of the game to get a top 10 in google for terms like "virus", "virus xxx" you need to be ALOT more specific.

There is also alot of competition, and also GET LINKS!

Hi all and thanks for your replies.
Yes I know that its a lot harder to get high rankings for those more competitive terms. That's why those terms are deep down my list of keywords.Anyway..I already know about the basic techniques and I've been to webworkshop.net already.Anyways, here are my ideas on what I plan to do:

My website would contain free content on computer viruses. That's the main thing in it.Now what I plan to do is that on the top navigation bar of my website I'll make links that contain my keywords with the word "Articles" in the end e.g "Computer Virus Protection Articles," "Computer Virus Help Articles" etc. When someone clicks on any of these links e.g he clicks on C.Virus Protection articles,he'll be taken a page that contains links to all the articles that are related to computer virus protection.Same for all of the other smaller keywords. When someone clicks on an article e.g he clicks on some article in C.Virus Protection category,he'll be taken to the article which would be optimised for c.virus protection keyword. That is,the whole article would be about that keyword and the keyword would be repeated time and again in the content.(I got this strategy from webposition.net's doorway pages' report). In this way I'll get lots of internal links that contain the keywords in the link Text. But this arises a small problem here...many of the keywords mean the same thing and I can't assign them different categories e.g both "Fix a computer virus" and "get rid of a computer virus" would mean the same thing.Do you think I should put such keywords in the same category and optimise the pages in that category for all such keywords?Any comments or suggestions to improve my strategy?I'll be waiting....

You're asking the same questions across different threads - please read what has actually been posted to help you across them.

As to your description above - sure, that's good - but that's only Content SEO. That means on site optimisation. Good in itself as a starter - but you need to get lots of other websites to link to yours. That's the real meaning of "LINKS!".

I, Brian, which tool do you prefer, wordtracker or overture? Is wordtracker worth the money?

I use both and cross-reference them - but I didn't personally find the paid Wordtracker results to be particularly worth it.
