Florida Update

Hi all.
After the Florida Update thing, all the websites that used seo techniques have been put out of scene.I have a friend who were previously ranked at #3 for his keywords, but now he is just invisible. In his website, the only thing that seemed to have caught the attention of the filters was his using the keyword all around the page. But that is an ethical seo technique isn't it?If such things can cause your website to be filtered..what should you do now in order to get high rankings?I'm designing my website these days,I haven't launched it yet.And I wonder what I should and shouldn't do to avoid the Florida Update??
Reply soon.
Ali.

One way to help counter the Florida effect should be to ensure you have as many links as possible from other related sites, directories, and topic-associated links pages.

Yeah but..talking about SEO issues...shall I do the typical SEO things like putting the keywords in title tags and in H1 tags, and putting the keywords in the content?Bcuz I know some websites that used these techniques and they were filtered and while they were in the top 10 results for their keywords before the update thing happened, now they're invisible. That makes lots of questions arise in my mind, like,if I don't use these techniques or reduce their use,and google gets back to its old self, what then?I'll lose my rankings again. What do you people recommend?

The "typical" seo thing wont get you high rankings if you have any sort of competition.

Ali, I *am* talking about SEO issues.

You can do the Content SEO thing - title tags, H1, etc - but I really recommend you also get back links through directories and links pages from sites covering the same topic.

Are you sure that doing the typical page optimization won't get my website filtered? How do I know if I'm over optimizing my page? And here I'm not talking about getting links..I'm talking about the page optimization e.g those title h1 tags stuff.

H1 tags are there for a reason, they are headings, and so you will not get "filtered" by google.
For SEO, the main technique is links, and lots of them.

Content SEO is a good starter, and can help catch lots of low-traffic terms. It's the links you need for higher traffic.

Well..what I'm trying to say is that I read in a couple of places that after the florida update google filters all the results and then displays only those results who aren't optimizing,or over optimizing their pages. That's what I wanna know about..if I get good links..and if I also use the other optimizing techniques..would my website get filtered or not?(I know some websites who don't appear in the results now while they were in the top 5 results earlier. And they think its reason was that there website got filtered for over optimizing their pages.

Forget about "over-optimisation filters". I've told you precisely what you need to know.
