As mentioned by the above posters, attracting quality inbound links is the only way to gain high PR. One excellent way to gain inbound links is to publish RSS feeds for your visitors. If your visitors find your feeds interesting and publish them on their websites, you can save a lot of time looking for links and concentrate on your content

Post my url to forums? I read the rules of forums that they don't allow advertisement, so if I just post my url it's like I'm advertising my website? I also ask for link exchange to similar sites but mostly they don't link to us because we still don't have pagerank. It's really hard doing this Well anyway I'm thankful I get some ideas here

Try getting the same links as your competiting sites ( use Yahoo's site explorer to find out).
If it's a movie site, I assume more links in the blogs matter.
Try payperpost to get your links up, but with a price

Hmm.. the basic funda is to gain the trust of google... once that done you can be on the top with very little efforts...
Well if your site is new... dont just go out linking too fiercely... make it few quality links a month for few months and check if google has indexed you... if it has then one thing is sure that you are now trusted in the eyes of google... from that point onward you continue building quality links... and continue it slowly and steadily.....
And then BANG... You are the KING...

Yes, our site is more on flash. That's one of our problem right now, flash is a very big no...no...SEO wise. So we redesigning it just plain html or maybe a little bit of flash coz its actually needed specially with the kind of service we have, hopefully sooner we can finish redesigning it.
Guys post some comments with our site Lazymovie.com so that will be able to know you opinion....

you might find that you can do a lot with CSS, and using CSS instead of flash and tables for layout means that you can put your content first and help searchers find your information better when they're performing searches

Well - I'd suggest you need to focus on your anchor text and the keyword research. Seek keywords with higher traffic that are less competitive (e.g. results on Google less than 2 million). If you have money to spend, you can take your PR up by getting inbound links - even if you have a slightly more competitive keyword (more than 2 million).
