How important is PR?
Hi all.
Well all the time these days I keep hearing that in order to get high rankings I need to get High PR,etc etc.I wonder how important PR actually is..so that I can shape my strategies according to that.If I ask you to give a percentage to all of the things that are used by search engines to determine the rank of a page ..what would be the percentage of the importance of PR?

PR is determined by the number of links, and as the numbe rof links is most important, PR is most important. A high PR site will beat a low PR site in the SERPS.

ALot of people see PR as just that - an indicator.
But how did the site get that PR? By links. A PR10 site will have more links than a PR5 site. And so, by saying "Is PR useful", you are effectively saying "Are links useful", which is a definite yes!

yeah I know they are useful...but how much useful are they?Could you give them a percentage of their importance?In other words,could you give them numbers out of a 100 for their importance?

Quite right - if Google is moving over entitely to an expert system, then the priority is to get related-topic links from other pages. directories and link exchanges are the simplest ways to build these.
