Link Farm?

Hello everyone, this is my 1st post and I hope I'm posting in the right section.

I have my eye on a domain that is going to expire in the next few weeks. It already has some PR and traffic.

Problem is its one of those "link farm" pages that you come across sometimes when you type an url wrong, etc.

My question is - Do these sites really make people money? Seems like a boring thing to operate to make a few bucks to me.

Thoughts?

The registrar (Godaddy, or Network Solutions, etc...) Usually hold domains for 6-9 months after registration. This usually removes any search engine rankings, and valuable traffic.

Yes they do make money. Every time you click on any one of those links its syndicated and tracked by another website. Like adwords and yahoos version of the same.

You can try getting some backorder service, if you think the owner won't renew the domain.

They make tons of money. Not the sites individually, but type in traffic is huge, and when you've got 100,000 domains working for you - no content, no advertising, no blogging etc - just PPC

If you were planning on buying it just to operate the same site, you'll make hardly anything. There's a name for buying up tons of domain names and parking them all.. but I can't seem to recall it.
