How to select the right keyword?

Hey guys, one question make me confusing all the time.

What should be unique in a content? Keyword(s) or Title?

For instance, if I'm going to write a post under the title of "How to stop drinking alcohol by your own"

what will be the good "focus keyword"?
1 - Drinking alcohol
2 - How to stop drinking alcohol
or
3 - How to stop drinking alcohol by your own

Seriously I don't understand how to select the right keyword.

Hmm you need a technical keyword research before you can bring up the title, A unique content is not about the title, its about your post description check backlinks for full keyword research hope this helps

I got your point. Of course, we have to select keyword first before make a title for a content.
But how to select the keyword?
With search volume? or
With keyword competitiveness?

let's say, according to my example I posted in the question,
"Drinking alcohol" has 100K search volume, but very hard to compete with other websites.
"How to stop drinking alcohol" has only 20 search volume and very easy to compete with other sites.
In such a case, what would be the right keyword to select?

With the former, you have a smaller chance at achieving traffic goals to achieve conversions. With the latter, you may have a better chance of conversions.

That said, I'd try to find some middle-ground. Where search is higher than 20 (your example) and much less than 100k (again, using your example) and your competition is on the lower end as well.

But, yes, look at titling, semantic phrase usage and maybe even a geo-specific qualifier could help.

It's better to take the suggestion from content writing experts or try to find your competitors where they are focused with.

You need to select the right keywords before uploading the title and the content, as this play vital role in SEO. You should target long tail keywords as long tail keywords will have less competition as compared to single phrase keywords. You can take help from keywords planner for the monthly search volume and for the competition and use Google.

You may select the low competition keyword which is possible to rank. Don't forget to add LSI keywords as well.

How to stop drinking alcohol that was the Good keyword for your Title and you need to focus on this keywords. Before Selecting any keywords you need to use keywords planner tools that will gives you the right idea for selecting keywords. Some time few keywords will not have searches on google so working on these keywords are time waste.

A nice post is not only written with a single keyword. Try to use 2-4 different keywords in your article.
How to find more keywords: At the bottom of search results you can find different keywords which are searched by people more often.
How to place the keywords in your article: While writing the article try to use those keywords 2-3 times depending upon the length of your article.

I agree! Google suggestions and keywords that are displaying at the bottom of the search results are very helpful in understanding the requirements of the targeted audience.

best thing is that you can use google keyword planner for getting the right keyword. I would suggest you to choose the keyword Which has low competition and higher search volume. so you can get good ranking and traffic very easily.

you could also use the google auto complete. it helps you to get good long tail keywords.

You can use Keywordtool.io. This tool will give basic keywords of google, Yahoo, Bing and App store. About three keywords, I think how to stop dring alcohol is best choice.
