What is the best method of internal linking?

It is better when I link only the title of the post, or when I link title and thumbnail?

I heard that if the two links lead to the same source, only the first one is ok for google. What with link juice?

You would get a higher CTR when you use thumbnail+title to for internal linking..It's more attractive for visitor.
Yes, It's true. Google will only count the anchor text of the first link on a page which points to a page. So it's useless to link a page more than once on a page.
Or, if you have to link to the same page more than once so you must use the proper anchor for the first link.

You can inter link pages with similar topics this will increase user engagement as well as pass link juice to your most important pages. Another benefit is you can use keyword rich anchor text when interlinking inner pages otherwise you have to use varied anchor text when getting links from external websites.

So it's better to have first link with anchor text, instead of thumbnail, not vice versa? I mean:

<article>
<a>anchor text</a>
<a><img></a>
</article>

Internal linking is one of the best method to get whole website crawled with a single hit, I prefer doing internal linking with Keyword rich anchor then to get the website index with me concern keywords. I also link my recent post on new articles to optimize the bounce rate of my blog.

Internal linking using keyword rich anchor text is NOT a good idea and should not be followed as advice.

I think a appealing thumbnail is not a bad idea.
Because by nature, people are visual and we’re attracted to images, especially those containing people.
