I made it to page 1 (#6) for one of my sites on google(108 mil results), but then redid the site...moved it to a new server, etc. And dropped. But it had to be done, the site wasn't converting well enough. Now it gets less traffic and converts really well.

Is this just a goolge thing? I rank #1 on yahoo for a term 1st out of91,100,000. Has been #1 in MSN too but not google......

doh, i haven't even been checking msn.

currently #4, #6, and unlisted on MSN for 3 phrases that are:
#3, #5, and #16 on yahoo. couldn't get one of the phrases even on google yet, however, and article I posted about it made #10 and has back links all over it! rock on.

Currently my top keyword is 2 words (common) - position fluctuates between 3 and 4 (has done for over a year) out of 99.8 million on Google.com.

Also have number 8 out of 338 million but there's no traffic.

For my freshdames.com site Google is nice but not as kind as I'd like:

"female celelbrities" #10 / 4.85 million
"female celebrity pictures" #5 / 4.42 million
"female celebrity news" #1 / 4.51 million results

www.buildingbrands.com used to be #1 for "brands" (232 million results) but now it has dropped to #6 from my recent search in Google. Not good in MSN and Yahoo.

I help top 5 results for the term "ipod" for almost two years in Yahoo & MSN

Google knocked it out of the top 100 after 6 months.

It got a point where it was no longer profitable to keep working it though and it dropped January of this year.

People always talk about Google rankings but I find Yahoo rankings convert better. Maybe that'e just me...

I keep popping up in Yahoo for "internet marketing", but then a week later it's back to the second page.
