How to get out of Sandbox faster?

If you are purchasing an existing domain,
It has obviously failed in the past and thats why its up for sale.
so won't google and other search engines see that and then give you other problems on top of the ones that might have been there before.

I know of a company that purchased a domain name for around $50k a few years back. They didn't know it was black listed until after consulting with several seo firms. Eventually they straightened the whole thing out with Google and they are doing fine now. The whole process took around 7 months.

My point is through communication with the SE's you can get penalizations lifted from domain names.

Just my 2 cents. I'm not sure it's wise spending $5k and 7 months of precious time on a blacklisted domain. Could it be so that soon the chances that the existing domain has been banned will be so high, that people will stop paying attention to that fact at call?
