In my opinion, no-follow link is not bad. they still pass some value although not much. if your backlink profile is full of do-follow link then google would see it as un-natural. it's not good for your site

Contact the person who is giving you the nofollow link and ask him to remove the link.

Rightly said. No point to remove no-follow links, even they add some weight to the referring website. Build some do-follow links, then links get balanced. A mix of dofollow and nofollow links is advised and is required by google.

Why you want to remove NoFollow Links? Do you wanted it to be removed from your own site or external site?

Nofollow links are good to get traffic & send traffic without passing any link juice, so instead of thinking it to remove, think to gain more links (No-Follow or Do-Follow).

Links will result in more traffic & better SERP results.

Never remove your No-follow links until they come from low authority sites because no-follow links give you some traffic and equalise your backlink profile.

If you have the only do-follow link then Google thinks you are spamming and you get a special gift from Google which has many names like Ban, Deindex from Google.

Refine the backlink bucket is good idea but don't follow the Nofollow or Dofollow terminology. It is old. Today, if you want to filter the backlinks then remove the unnatural or low-quality backlinks whether it is dofollow or nofollow.

You shouldn't remove all nofollow backlinks. To remove backlinks, You can use Disavow tools of Google Search Console.

That is the worst advice given out so far in this thread. If you can not help the thread creator out, don't reply. At least other people tried posting advice.

Me, I would leave the nofollow link for branding reasons. Anytime my link is seen it might get either added to someones favorites or they remember my site later in the future for certain niche stuff and go visit it by typing in the URL or the title of the blog.

Nofollow links can still help out in the long run. I wouldn't focus on no follow links that much but they can serve a purpose.

Sigh...If anyone has just "nofollow" links in their link profile, I'd be very, very surprised since most of the links on the internet do not have the "nofollow" attribute.

I personally don't worry about them but if you really want to hide them in google then Vhanda is right, check out GWT.

no follow link is not bad, otherwise, it's a factor of SEO offpage.
put the appropriate number of nofollow link will make your site reliable
if you want to check what link is nofollow link, use Ahrefs tool, however monthly fee is quite high

I like your sound, I wasn't aware about that no-follow links pass some value. I just want to know one thing by you.

I do blog commenting & most of blog give no follow links but even I do blog commenting.

So will my website get some value by those no-follow links from Blog commenting ?
