Some of popular SEO plugins (I don't want to name them) are suggesting a limitation on meta title and meta description number of words, but it's neither compulsory nor mandatory. Google changing it's game plans, going more real time and user choice first. So it's showing the data that is relevant to user's search, not what you enter in meta description. So focus on supplying quality and unique content that is useful your audience not seo friendly.

Hi,

There is no ideal length for Title Tag. Now google using pixel length for title tag. You can write upto 100 or more characters in title, and google showing all the characters in serp. But less than '512 pixels' in CSS.

For meta tag, ideal length is 156 characters.
