Is webpage's age really matter?

Hi Friends,
I have a website, It's domain is more than 8 years old. Two months ago, we have created some new pages on it with rich and informative content than our competitors' website. I have done content marketing and get back links from high DA websites, but still these pages' rank in SERP is down as compared to others. I have done competitors analysis for the keywords, many competitors haven't any content and back links for those pages(ranked well). Please suggest me.

As noted by others, generally domain age does not influence ranking. That being said, older sites and blogs could rank because of the number of quality backlinks they have gained over time and social proof.

DA (Domain Authority) is a Moz metric that is not used by the search engines.

If you have purposely been link dropping that could be a problem. Natural backlinks (ones you earned because of good content) are much better.

How long ago did you add the new content? It takes time for new content to be indexed and settle to it's rightful spot in the search results.

Have you followed all the tips in Google's SEO Beginner Guide to make sure your pages and site in general have been optimized properly?

Well, have to admit that domain age is not more considerable while taking it upon SEO, however still for some browsers might be a factor (especially for these more than 5 years)

Can you re-explain this? I don't get what you are inferring.

As LMD stated It is included amongst the 200(205 depending on which blog you're looking at) Google ranking factors of 2017. If you were identical in strength in all other aspects and your site was older than your opponents then you would take first and they would take second.

However, if you have a top notch SEO game you'll be able to cut through tenured sites no problem with hard work and solid foundation.

PR has long been no longer google ranked list to rank. In the SEO world they say instead the DA and PA index.

I see you haven't read much on PageRank lately. PR is still an important ranking signal, but internal to a select group of Google employess only.

One thing that does matter is how long it is until your domain expires. If you pay for 5 years, this will have a positive influence on SEO.

6. Don't sweat over domain age

The notion that the age of a domain (i.e. how long it's been registered) is an important SEO ranking factor is a myth. When asked about domain registration length, Google's Matt Cutts said, "To the best of my knowledge, no search engine has ever confirmed that they use length of registration as a factor in scoring. If a company is asserting that as a fact, that would be troubling. The primary reason to renew a domain would be if it's your main domain, you plan to keep it for a while, or you'd prefer the convenience of renewing so that you don't need to stress about your domain expiring."

What does matter to Google (albeit to varying degrees) are things like how long it’s been since your site was first crawled or since the first inbound link was recorded. Even so, though, Matt Cutts assures that "the difference between a domain that's six months old and one year old is really not that big at all."
