How to Redirect a Web Page..?

There are two ways to redirect your webpage.
1. permanent (301)
2. Temporary (302)
You have do this in .htaccess file
Temporary redirect is not much healthier to the website. later It may impact your SERP.

We need a little bit more information to give helpful answers.
  1. Are you on an Apache or Windows server?
  2. What hosting company are you using? Perhaps we could find you specific instructions for that host.

The best redirect for SEO is a 301 permanent redirect which is done in the .htaccess file on an Apache server. A Windows server is a bit more complicated.

If you are using free web hosting or something like yourname.hostingprovider.com it might be impossible.

This is why I asked my 2 questions.

If you have a WordPress site, you can install plugins to redirect any URL or webpage. I think the safe redirect manager plugin will work in wordPress

Adding plugins to do things you can do yourself adds to the load time of your site.

And... what if the plugin fails or is discontinued?

I would simply add the extra lines to the htaccess file rather than add WordPress plugins due to the simplicity of it.

You have two options either you can use the HTACCESS method or redirect with the hosting account.

It depends upon your intention as far as the redirect, I maybe missed it if you specified. If your simply just minimizing Google errors because you switched urls, or deleted content from your page, most hosting companies provide redirect options in your cpanel.

If not you can also put redirects into your .htaccess file. If you're redirecting for Affiliate marketing reasons I like that magic/tiny(one of those 2 lol) link plugins. It's helpful if your pitching multiple products, and it makes customizing the urls really easy.

If you can share the purpose of redirection, we can help you more because redirection has both pros and cons so, always do the redirection carefully.
