I disagree... I think you can get indexed between 24 and 36 hours.
If the links only purpose is to help get a site indexed in Google perhaps you could use Wikipedia ?
Maybe more toward the black side of things but it works. PR7 wiki pages get crawled and re-indexed almost everyday. Only takes a couple days there and your link is cached. You could also use a combination of both between the Wiki and your allies here at V7N. All of which are outside your normal network of links.
Know what I mean David?

Well I guess if you are going to use some black hat techniques then go ahead, but if you are trying to get it done the right way, it makes it pretty hard to do in 24-36 hours!

Nah of course not. As long as the page you are linking is an extra resource for the Wiki article.
I cant believe Wiki didnt pop into my head when I first seen Dave's request, dam I must be getting old.

Agreed, I don't think its unethical/blackhat if you are adding your link to a related subject.
Furthermore, I think the best solution is what you offered orignially Cormac.
- Get some free links from people like BingoBalls or other people outside your network. Then on top of that make sure your link stays published on the wiki for at least a couple days.

No, I never told anyone it was possible. I know it is because for me I just point relevant links from my high PR and high traffic sites.
I am writing an article on this for complete newcomers.. I have no hidden agenda here, I just wanted ideas.

I understand that. I have a few PR7 sites myself. As I said, its for a complete newcomer. I'd rather it stayed white hat. Thanks though.

Ahh, Cormac, I didn't realise that was you with the different name!
I guess adding to WikiPedia would be legit in some cases. But if it was an Irish Mesothelioma lawyer website for example, that just wouldn't be possible.
It's really getting back to basics here.

Well, you can write about some popular blog with trackpacks (and link to it a lot). You'll be getting trackpacks and will be indexed from there (hopefully).
Also, you can create something great and submit your site to the social websites. Fast and the linked-to-page may be indexed within 24 hours.
Then again, if you submit your own story, it is spamming (because you make it appear without obvious human approval and positive reaction).

Some good ideas here guys. Thanks. The point is to get INDEXED in 24 hours. The SEO road after that is long and winding. I am fully aware of that.
I post a list of compiled suggestions when I'm done.

Hello,
can you try craigslist?
that works...I think. You can offer a service or something and add a link to your website at the end under your signature.
Not sure if its against there rules. When I offer my services, I link to my site for more info.

It is about luck...Your site will be indexed by google if the spider crawl in your site within 24 hrs of your website launch..But we cannot determine when it will come..

Only paid submission can guarantee 24 hour submission.
Why do you think some new websites spend 10-15 millions dollars a year to get visitors.
The best example... iLike.com who just spend 13 million $$$ and today they have about 2 000 unique visitors a day.

Well I think I'll try all of the free ideas mentioned above the next time I launch a new site. I'm sure that if they are all combined (yes it'll take some work), it is almost certain that the site can be crawled within 24 hours.
